Male vine can pollinate up to five female Kiwi vines. Growing 15-20 ft. tall with a 6-10 ft. spread when fully mature, it has striking ornamental foliage. The up to 5 in., heart-shaped green leaves are variegated with white and pink hues. Makes an excellent privacy screen. Potted. Zones 4-8.

  • Height: 4-20 feet.
  • Spacing: 8-10 feet.
  • Depth: Dig a hole twice the size of the pot the plant is in. Plant at the same depth as it was in the pot.

  • Light Required: Full Sun, Partial Shade
  • Pollinator: Both a female and male plant are necessary to produce fruit. One male kiwi can pollinate up to 6-8 female kiwi plants.

  • Fruit: Male kiwis do not produce fruit. Only female kiwis produce fruit.
  • Zone: 4-8
  • Form: Fruit, Small Fruit, Kiwi
  • Soil Requirements: Average, well-drained soil. It is very important that the soil is well-drained because too much moisture can lead to root rot.
  • Growth Rate: Fast growing and vigorous.
  • Pruning: Prune in late winter, when plant is dormant. Remove damaged and twisted wood.
  • Foliage: Deciduous, green foliage creates an attractive vine.
  • Comments: Delicious for snacking, these grape-like kiwis have a smooth, green skin and a tropical flavor that's both tart and sweet! Vines spread 6-10 feet and reach 15-20 feet when fully mature. Males offer a striking ornamental foliage. Both males and females are needed for fruit production. Just one male plant can pollinate up to five females.
