Southern Grove Strawberries
Zones 7-10
Growing strawberries in southern climates can be rewarding, and, with the right approach, relatively easy. You'll want to strawberry varieties specifically bred for warmer regions, such as day-neutral or everbearing types. And, thanks to our Southern Grove gardeners, we've assembled a variety of strawberry plants that will perform amazingly in Zones 7-10. Due to the heat, it's best to plant strawberries in the fall or early spring to avoid extreme summer temperatures. Regular watering is crucial, as strawberries have shallow roots and can dry out quickly. Mulching around the plants helps conserve moisture and suppress weeds. With proper care, you can enjoy a bountiful harvest of sweet and juicy strawberries in the South.
