Get to know Armenian Cucumbers

  • Rated high in taste trials
  • Easily digestible skin
  • Vigorous, productive vines
  • Huge yields
  • Denser, less watery than other varieties

We fell in love with this heirloom, also known as a snake melon, during our 2017 trials. Vigorous, full vines were quick to fill an entire trellis and start producing. Armenian produces enormous yields of light green, heavily ribbed fruits with thin, tender skins, up to 36 in. long. Fruits remain flavorfully mild, and the seeds quite tender, even when they grow very large. This variety is our favorite for cucumber salad, and other recipes where you need a denser, less watery cucumber.

Growing Armenian Cucumbers

Like other cucumber plants, Armenian Cucumber can be grown on the ground or on a trellis. When grown on the ground, the fruits tend to turn and twist into unique shapes. When grown on a trellis, the fruits are straighter. Top eating quality when harvested at 12-18" long. 50 DAYS.
