Bred in North Dakota, Sweet Dakota Rose is one of the best watermelons for gardeners with shorter growing seasons. This quick-producing, open-pollinated variety yields elongated, 10-12 lb. melons with a pinkish-red flesh, sweet flavor, few seeds and a great eating quality. The melons are sure to be a hit at picnics and in fruit salads. The slightly ridged fruits have striped rinds. Because it matures quicker than other watermelon varieties, Sweet Dakota Rose is a great choice for regions with shorter growing times or where diseases set in mid to late season. 80-85 DAYS.
