Tromboncino Summer Squash

Tromboncino Summer Squash

Grow as a Summer or Winter Squash

Enjoy squash for months! This dual-purpose Italian heirloom can be eaten as both a summer and winter squash. Pick when the light green to tan fruits are 8-12 inches long and eat as a summer squash. They're excellent sautéed, steamed and grilled. Some say it's the best summer squash they've ever tried. If you leave the fruits on the vine for 30 more days, they'll grow 30-36 inches long and can be used as a winter squash. Their flesh is similar to butternut squash, but not quite as sweet. Vigorous, long vines hold up well to squash borers, cucumber beetles and powdery mildew. 60-90 DAYS.
