A true standout in the garden, Sugar Magnolia's deep purple pods contrast beautifully against the rich green foliage—and its sweet, crisp pods are a wonderful addition to salads, raw vegetable trays and stir-fry. The pods can also be allowed to fill out and shelled for shell peas. The vigorous, sturdy, 6-7 ft. tall vines produce very ornamental, bicolor, fuchsia and bright purple flowers and hyper-tendrils that fasten to a fence or trellis. Its unique ornamental qualities make Sugar Magnolia a great choice for the edible landscape. Snap peas are a cool-weather crop that can be grown in the spring or fall garden. 70 DAYS.
