Flowering ground cover brightens woodland and shaded areas with fragrant, charming purple flowers in late spring to early summer. When planted in groups, it puts on an impressive show—and butterflies love it. Sherwood Purple Woodland Phlox is a low-maintenance perennial with woody stems and short, lanceolate, evergreen leaves. Native to North America, this easy-care plant is drought-tolerant, once established. Because it is shallow rooted, take care to not disturb it when raking and cleaning up your flower beds. Grows 6-10 in. tall. Plant in partial to full shade.
