RHS Award of Garden Merit winner combines ornamental qualities and flavorful, edible pods. Aintree Runner Bean, a British variety, features showy red flowers and high yields of slender, straight, stringless pods with an excellent flavor, fresh or frozen. Heat-tolerant plants grow up to 10 ft. tall and have great pod set, even in higher summer temperatures. For the best pod quality and prolonged cropping, harvest beans regularly and when slightly immature. The beans can also be dried, preserved and used in soups and stews. Place plant supports when sowing bean seeds. 65-85 DAYS.
