- Heirloom variety from California
- Very large yellow fruits blushed with red
- Produces heavy yields
We've tried a lot of peaches, and Rio Oso Gem Peach is one of the best for flavor and texture. The tree produces heavy yields of very large, yellow-skinned fruits blushed with red. The firm, yellow flesh has a wonderfully rich, sweet flavor. We loved eating them fresh, but they're also excellent in desserts, canned and even frozen. The freestone fruits are red at the pit. An heirloom variety from California, Rio Oso Gem has very showy pink blossoms in the spring. 800 chill hours required. Harvest in mid-August. Zones 6-10.
