You'll want to plant this outstanding lilac near a window or entrance so that your guests can enjoy its fragrance and color! Its flower heads start red and turn a lovely purple during late spring. Makes lovely cut flowers. French Congo Lilac attracts bees, butterflies and birds. Grows 8-10 ft. tall with a 10-12 ft. spread. This flowering shrub is a good choice for planting in borders, as a hedge, for privacy screens or specimen planting. Grows best in well-drained, enriched soil. Best in full sun to partial shade. Deer tend to avoid. Potted. Zones 3-8.
