Product Details

  • Botanical Name: Festuca cinerea
  • Height: 10 inches
  • Spacing: 10 - 12 inches.
  • Depth: Place in hole 2 times as wide & deep as pot. Top of root ball at soil surface.
  • Spread: 8 - 12"
  • Sun/Shade: Full sun to partial shade.
  • Color: Blue
  • Foliage: Grass-like, blue though Summer.
  • Blooms: Mid-Summer
  • Flower Form: Insignificant pale plumes.
  • Soil Requirements: Well drained, somewhat dry soil.
  • Growth Rate: Slow first season; moderate thereafter.
  • Pruning: None
  • Comments: Blue color is more intense in drier soils and in full sun. Plant is very drought resistant. Divide plants in Spring as needed. Remove blooms as they form to prevent seed formation. Dwarf compact habit is unique as is the long lasting blue color of the foliage. Also called dwarf fescue. Used as an ornamental grass. Forms 10" X 10" clumps. Good for ground cover, rock gardens or border. Foliage may be toxic to some degree if ingested.
