Bring rich, vivid color to shady spots with Red Fanal Astilbe. This compact, clump-forming perennial thrives in woodland gardens, beneath shade trees or in containers where sunlight is filtered. In early to midsummer, feathery plumes packed with hundreds of tiny, carmine-red florets rise gracefully above bronze, fernlike foliage. As summer goes on, foliage turns dark green with a reddish tint, with a refined form that stays attractive all season long. Easy to grow and long-lived, Red Fanal does best in well-drained soil. Grows up to 18-20 in. tall. Zones 2-8.
