If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind garden addition, you'll be talking about long after the last slice is gone, you've got to try Lemoncello. This unique melon combines the familiar sweetness of cantaloupe with a bright, citrus-y tart finish—we've heard it likened to Fruit Stripes gum! The salmon-orange flesh is pleasantly firm—neither crisp nor melt-in-your-mouth—with a small seed cavity, so there's plenty of delicious fruit to enjoy. Vigorous, healthy vines produce an abundance of attractive 5-8 lb. melons, and in our garden trials, Lemoncello outperformed many traditional cantaloupe types, producing well even under challenging growing conditions.

Unlike standard "slip" melons, Lemoncello is harvested more like a watermelon and can take a bit of trial and error to confirm maturity and enjoy the very best flavor. Rather than waiting for the fruit to separate from the vine, watch for the netting to grow up the stem. You can also look for the first "true" leaf closest to the fruit and watch for that to become completely dried. If that leaf is still green, the melon is probably not yet ripe. Harvested at the right time, you'll be rewarded with one of the most distinctive melons you'll ever taste! 80-85 DAYS.
