Fast-growing Evergreen
Green Giant Arborvitae (Thuja standishii x plicata), also called Green Giant Thuja, is one of the fastest-growing evergreens available. It features a tall upright habit with medium emerald sprays of thick, lustrous foliage that don't require pruning. Perfect for creating a windbreak, privacy hedge, or striking specimen tree, its thick growth quickly forms a lush, evergreen barrier.
Low-Maintenance and Weather-resistant
The hardy evergreen is drought-tolerant, deer-resistant, and typically free from bagworm problems — so you don't have to worry about spraying chemicals. This plant is also extremely weather-resistant, thriving in full sun and resisting frost and cold damage. Expect rapid growth of 3 – 5 feet (36 – 60 inches) per year, reaching a maximum height of 30 – 40 feet and a spread of 10 – 15 feet. Easily trimmed to your preferred height, it grows well in Zones 5 – 8, making it a versatile choice for many landscapes.
