Sweet Sixteen Apple Tree

Remarkable Flavor and Crunch

  • Remarkably complex flavor and crunchy texture
  • Hints of vanilla, cherry, molasses and fine bourbon
  • Extremely hardy, can be grown in Zone 3
  • Ripens mid September
  • Available in Reachables® size
Developed by the University of Minnesota, this is one of the best-tasting, sweetest, cold-hardy apples that we've found. Sweet Sixteen is super sweet with a richly complex flavor—similar to vanilla with just a hint of molasses and fine bourbon. It's a taste-treat like no other. It's a delight for snacking, fruit salads and no-sugar added applesauce. The medium-sized apples are attractive, too. Their yellow skins are striped in bright reddish-pink hues. Sweet Sixteen Apple Tree is extra hardy and long-lived even in harsh conditions. Ripens in mid-September. Zones 3-6.
