Victoria has stood the test of time-this heirloom favorite has been planted in kitchen gardens for years. This hardy perennial is a must-have for every gardener. Broad green stalks with a tint of crimson are not tough or stringy and are excellent for cooking. Resistant to deer, no pest or disease-related problems. Zones 3-7.

Product Details

  • Botanical Name: Rheum rhabarbarum 'Victoria'
  • Height: 24 - 36 inches.
  • Spacing: 36 inches.
  • Depth: Plant bareroot 1 inch below soil surface. Plant potted at the same level as the pot.
  • Spread: 36 - 48 inches.
  • Light Required: Full sun to partial shade. Yields best in full sun.
  • Yield: High yields.
  • Color: Greenish-white to reddish blossoms.
  • Foliage: Medium to dark green foliage with red to red-green stalks.
  • Blooms: Mid to late Summer.
  • Fruit: Broad green stalks with a tint of crimson are not tough or stringy.
  • Zone: 3 - 8
  • Form: Perennial, Upright stalks, mounded clump.
  • Flower Form: Flower stalks can reach up to 6 feet tall with small greenish-white to red flowers.
  • Soil Requirements: Well-drained, deep, fertile soil, high in organic matter, PH 5.5-6.5.
  • Growth Rate: Moderate to fast growth rate.
  • Comments: The best variety for cooking. Sweeter & milder than other varieties.
