This is one tough tree! The Austrian Pine can handle poor and high pH soil, drought, air pollution, salt air and urban environments. At the height of 50-60 ft. when fully mature, this hardy pine works well for providing windbreaks and privacy screens. Its dark green, 4-6 in. needles provide year-round color. The Austrian Pine also creates the perfect shelter for birds, squirrels and owls. Growing up to 18 in. a year, it has a medium growth rate. Deer tend to pass it by. Grows best in full sun. Zones 4-7.
