- Glossy green summer foliage
- Grows 5-6 ft. tall
In taste tests, Legacy consistently finishes in the top 10%. Berries are medium to large and very sweet when ripened on the bush. Yield on a mature bush is above average at 8 to 10 pounds per bush. Productivity is high due to an extended, 5 weeklong harvest season. Does so well in zones 7 and 8, that it is being increasingly grown in commercial orchards in those zones. Good yields of high-quality berries ripening in late mid-season. Harvest mid-late (In Southwestern Michigan beginning approximately August 1st, earlier in warmer zones) August. Needs annual pruning to keep growth habit upright. (Weight of harvest tends to make the branches "weepy"). Matures at 5-6 feet. Recommended for zones 5-8. A USDA release, Legacy is one of the best choices for warm zone plantings, and yet it is hardy to southern Michigan.
