Autumn Jazz Viburnum is a great shrub for fall color and attracting birds and wildlife. This low-maintenance, flowering shrub grows 8-10 ft. tall with a slightly larger spread. Its upright, vase-shaped habit makes it a good choice for growing as a tall hedge or privacy screen. The species is also known as Arrowwood due to Native American's using its straight shoots as shafts for making arrows. If you are looking to make some homemade arrows in our view this plant remains the best source for using as arrow shafts. In late spring to early summer, it produces non-fragrant, white flower clusters that give way to near-black, berrylike drupes that birds like to eat. Its foliage turns orange hues in the fall. An easy-care, deciduous shrub, Autumn Jazz tolerates a range of soils, but prefers well-drained soil. Grow in full sun to partial shade. Zones 3-8.
