Originally from Mexico, this heirloom variety produces fiery red, hot peppers that are the main ingredient in the famous Tabasco sauce. Tabasco Pepper plants grow up to 36 in. tall and produce heavy yields of 1 1/2-2 in. fruits with a hot, spicy flavor. Fruits start light yellow, turn green and ripen to a bright red. Because the fruits grow almost straight up from the branches, they're very easy to harvest. The peppers can be used fresh in recipes, dried or ground into powder. Pepper seeds may be started indoors and transplanted to the garden after danger of frost has passed. 80-100 DAYS.
