Shikou is Japanese for "supreme," which perfectly describes this outstanding eggplant. It produces beautiful, flavorful fruits with tender, glossy, dark purple skin and white flesh with very few seeds. Because of its tender skins, the 6-8 in. long and 1–1½ in. wide fruits require no peeling. Just slice and enjoy grilled, sautéed or in stir-fry. Growing 18-24 in. tall, the plants are very attractive, making them a good choice for a container or the edible landscape. For the best flavor, harvest these eggplants when the skin is still shiny. Plants may be set outdoors after night temperatures are above 55 degrees. Approx. 20 seeds per pkt. 70-80 DAYS.
