The most cold-hardy high bush blueberry you can grow, this 3 to 4-ft. bush is compact, yet extremely productive, easy to grow and adaptable to many different soil types. Medium-sized berries are excellent for jams and baking due to their high sugar content. Offers year-round interest with yellow-orange fall color and bright yellow wood. Ripens early July. Potted (5" Pot).

  • Botanical Name: Vaccinium v. corymbosum x v angustifolium 'Northland'; Family: Ericaceae
  • Height: 3 - 4 feet
  • Spacing: 3 1/2 - 4 feet apart in rows 12 feet apart.
  • Depth: Plant at the same depth as in the nursery.
  • Spread: 3 - 4 feet
  • Light Required: Full sun
  • Pollinator: Self-pollinating.
  • Yield: Approximately 15 - 20 pounds per plant at maturity.
  • Foliage: Large, waxy, deep green foliage. Turns red-orange in the Fall.
  • Blooms: May.
  • Fruit: Medium-size, juicy, sweet, light blue berries.
  • Zone: 3 - 7
  • Form: Upright bush.
  • Flower Form: White blossoms.
  • Soil Requirements: Acidic, moist, organic, well-drained soil. pH should be 4.5 to 5.5.
  • Growth Rate: Medium growth rate.
  • Pruning: Blueberries should be pruned during the Winter while the bushes are dormant.
  • Size: 1/4 inch blossoms.
  • Comments: One of the highest in healthful antioxidants. Medium fruit with intensely rich flavor. Ripens in early July.
