Showy clematis vine produces 4-5 in. double flowers with two shades of lilac in early summer. Reblooms with single flowers in late summer. Piilu Clematis is a manageable size, growing 8-10 ft. tall with medium green foliage. An excellent flowering vine for growing over fences, walls, arbors or trellises, as well as in patio pots and containers. For best results plant in rich, well-drained soil with a pH close to neutral. Prefers a situation where the tops are in the sun and the roots are shaded by low-growing plants or mulch that keeps the soil cool and moist. Zones 4-9.
