Exhibits good resistance to pests and exceptional resistance to Eastern Filbert Blight. Plant in very moist, fertile, well-drained soil for best results. Product Details

  • Botanical Name: Corylus avellana 'Jefferson'
  • Height: 10 - 12 feet, but it can be maintained as a smaller shrub for easy harvesting.
  • Spacing: 8 - 10 feet
  • Depth: Plant at the same depth as it is in the pot.
  • Spread: 8 - 10 feet
  • Light Required: Full Sun to Partial Shade
  • Pollinator: Choose two varieties for pollination.
  • Yield: Heavy yields, 20+ lbs. at maturity.
  • Foliage: Large green leaves.
  • Blooms: February
  • Fruit: Large tasty hazelnuts that consistently fill-out their shells.

  • Form: Rounded shrub
  • Flower Form: 1.5 - 3 inch male catkins in April. Female flowers insignificant.
