Excellent disease resistance for the South.

This beautiful hybrid tea rose has the disease resistance of a shrub coupled with the bloom form of an elegant exhibition rose. Product Details

Product Details

  • Botanical Name: Rosa cv. 'MEItroni' PP19970
  • Height: 4 - 5 Feet
  • Spacing: 3-4'
  • Depth: Soak the bareroot in water for about an hour. As a rule of thumb, dig the hole about 1 1/2 times as deep and 1 1/2 times as wide as the root system is long. Mound a small pile of soil in the center of the hole as a support for the rose's root crown. The graft should be 1 - 2 inches above the soil.
  • Spread: 3-4'
  • Light Required: Full Sun, Partial Shade
  • Color: Light pink with cream blush
  • Size: #1 Bareroot
  • Blooms: Late Spring, All Spring, Early Summer, Mid Summer, Late Summer, All Summer, Fall
  • Zone: 4-10
  • Form: Perennial
  • Flower Form: Medium to large, up to 4-5" (10-12 cm) in diameter, double and classically formed.
  • Soil Requirements: Well drained enriched soil.
  • Growth Rate: Moderate once established.
  • Pruning: Since rose bushes like to send out a strong lateral cane at the node just below a pruning cut, try to make pruning cuts about 1/4 inch above an "outward" facing leaf bud. By doing this and removing plant material from the center of the bush you will create a more open vase-shaped plant less susceptible to disease. Remove spent flowers to encourage rebloom.
  • Foliage: Glossy, medium green
  • Comments: Roses prefer a thorough watering but do not like 'wet feet'. Water early in the day to avoid wet conditions into the night, which can cause issues with fungus and disease.
