In midsummer, flower spikes with trumpet-shaped florets are borne in double rows. They're excellent cut flowers.  Growing 3-4 ft. tall with sword-like foliage, gladiolus can be grown in garden borders or containers. They perform best when planted in full sun to partial shade. Deer tend to avoid. 8-10 cm bulbs. Zones 3-10 (lift in the fall in zones 3-7)
