  • Botanical Name: Lagerstroemiahybrid 'PIILAG B2'
  • Height: 4-5 feet
  • Spacing: 5 - 8 feet.
  • Depth: Set plant at the same level it is growing at in the container, firm soil and water thoroughly.
  • Spread: 4-5 feet
  • Light Required: Performs best in full sun.
  • Color: Pink flowers.
  • Foliage: Deciduous, glossy, dark green foliage is very healthy looking and shows good resistance to leaf spot and powdery mildew. New growth emerges with reddish coloring and matures to dark green.
  • Blooms: All summer long.
  • Zone: 6-10
  • Form: Upright. Compact-fits in smaller spaces
  • Flower Form: Vibrant clusters of crepe paper-like flowers
  • Soil Requirements: Well-drained, organically rich, moisture retentive soil. Becomes more drought tolerant with age.
  • Growth Rate: Moderate growth rate.
  • Pruning: Remove spent flowers to encourage reblooming later in the season. Flowers on new growth, so pruning should be done in late winter. Prune to maintain a desired shape, and to remove dead and broken branches. Late winter.
  • Comments: A true standout in the Southern garden, crape myrtle will add vibrant summer color. The blooms of this compact variety start in early summer, and continue until late summer. Glossy, dark green foliage is attractive and healthy looking, making the perfect backdrop for the rich, bright flower clusters. Use as a focal point in the landscape, or line a walkway or bed. These compact crape myrtles also look gorgeous in a large container, adding color to a patio or greeting guests at an entryway. These become drought and heat tolerant after established.
