Generations of gardeners have loved Emerald Green Velvet Okra for its flavorful, spineless pods that stay tender at longer lengths. An open-pollinated, heirloom variety, its plants grow 5-8 ft. tall and produce plenty of pods throughout the growing season. Its round, smooth, dark green, velvety pods stay tender even when growing up to 6-8 in. long. The cut cross sections are perfectly round and resemble little wagon wheels. They're a wonderful addition to soups and stews—or serve fried or boiled as a side dish. For the best flavor, harvest okra pods every few days and don't allow the pods to grow to the fibrous and tough stage. 55-65 DAYS.
