Size, flavor and uniformity give Deerfield Hardneck purple garlic an edge. Its thin, white, purple striped wrappers house tan cloves with purple streaks. Deerfield produces large, meaty purple stripe garlic with a rich garlic flavor that starts out mild and finishes with a spicy kick. Like other hardneck garlic varieties, Deerfield performs best in cooler climates and is best planted in the fall.
