Dwarf Northsky Blueberry

Most Cold Hardy of All Blueberries


Survives winter temperatures of -45°F, yet performs well in warmer areas as well. Grows to 1 1/2 ft. tall and about 2 ft. wide. Perfect for containers, it offers three seasons of color. Snow-white blooms and glossy green foliage in the spring, deep sky blue berries in July, and leaves of brilliant red in autumn. Berries are small and have that rich "wild" blueberry flavor. Yields range from one to two lbs. per bush. Zones 3-7. Potted.

  • Height: 1 1/2 feet.
  • Spacing: 3 1/2 - 4 feet in rows 12 feet apart.
  • Depth: Plant at the same depth as in the nursery.
  • Spread: 2 feet.
  • Sun/Shade: Full sun.
  • Pollinator: Self pollinating.
  • Yield: Approximately 1 to 2 pounds at maturity.
  • Color: White blossoms.
  • Foliage: Large, waxy, deep green foliage. Turns dark red in the Fall.

  • Fruit: Long loose clusters of small-medium, juicy, light-blue berries.
  • Form: Upright bush. Perennial.
  • Soil Requirements: Acidic, moist, organic, well-drained soil. pH should be 4.5 to 5.5.
  • Growth Rate: Moderate growth rate.
  • Pruning: Prune before new growth begins in the Spring. Prune off twiggy growth leaving main stems.
  • Size: 1/4 inch blossoms.
  • Comments: Compact plants, ideal for patio growing. Higher antioxidant level than Tophat. It is the hardiest blueberry available.
