The Blue Moon Wisteria Plant is "re-writing the book" on this classic Southern flowering plant. It blooms like other wisteria, in late spring/early summer, but then it blooms sporadically through the summer. The blue moon wisteria vine takes a year or two to get established, then it is a very vigorous grower and if allowed to, it will extend 20' in either direction. Large, foot-long flower clusters are "showstoppers." Plant in full sun. Potted. Very hardy in Zones 4–9.
  • How fast does Blue Moon Wisteria grow?

  • The growth rate of a Blue Moon Wisteria depends upon its age and the growing conditions. The plant typically takes 1-2 years to establish. It's a vigorous grower at this stage, especially if located in full sun.
  • Is Blue Moon Wisteria invasive?

  • No. While wisteria vines native to Asia tend to be invasive, Blue Moon Wisteria is a non-invasive variety from Eastern North America. It does, however, have a fast growth rate and needs to be pruned at least twice a year.
  • When does Blue Moon Wisteria bloom?

  • Blue Moon Wisteria blooms in late spring-early summer and reblooms sporadically throughout the summer.
