Add refreshing color to the garden in early to midsummer with this heat-tolerant perennial. Blue Butterfly Delphinium, also called Chinese larkspur, bears deep blue flowers that bloom from early to midsummer—and attract butterflies. Growing just 14 in. tall, this compact, deer-resistant plant makes a good edging plant along sidewalks, in containers or in the fronts of borders. To make the blue flowers really stand out, plant in small groups or masses. Grows best when planted in full sun. Zones 4-8.
