Product Details

  • Botanical Name: Iris germanica 'Autumn Circus'; Family Iridaceae (Iris Family)
  • Height: 32 - 34 inches
  • Spacing: 15 - 18 inches
  • Depth: Dig a shallow hole 2-4 inches deep and twice as wide as the rhizome. Place the rhizome on a small mound in the middle of this hole and spread the roots. Fill the hole with soil, but only partially cover the rhizome. Water thoroughly.
  • Spread: 18 - 24 inches
  • Sun/Shade: full sun to partial shade
  • Color: blue-violet plicata markings overlaying its clean white petals
  • Foliage: glaucous-green, sword-like fans of stiff upright leaves
  • Blooms: 2 - 3 weeks in the spring, then it reblooms again in late summer - fall
  • Form: upright, rhizomatous perennial
  • Flower Form: typical iris-like, ruffled and flared blooms
  • Soil Requirements: well drained - quite tolerant of wide range of soils

  • Comments: An aptly named novel plicata reblooming iris, with gorgeous ruffles and flared blooms. The clear white petals are overlaid with distinctive violet-blue markings and venations that form an outstanding spectacle in the border. A vigorous grower with stout stems.
