What are the best cucumbers for making pickles?
If you're planning on making pickles, Gurney's recommends growing a pickling cucumber—ones that are sweet, with a nice crunch and a small seed cavity. Pickling cucumbers are usually short and blocky with thin skins whereas slicing cucumbers are longer and bred for fresh eating.
