"The ""Christine"" of all trees"

Comments:
"This is a beautiful tree once it matures with flowers but beware, that beauty comes at price. This tree grows wild and everywhere like weeds. You can not kill this tree. We tried so many times but it just kept coming back like the car ""Christine""(Stephen King) and sprouts everywere, even on rocks and gravel. Beware it will choke other trees next to it no matter how much you trim the tree and becareful where you plant it because it's roots can wrap around underground pipes. We landscaped our backyard and dug up the roots with a Caterpillar earth movers and the roots were vinelike 20-25ft long and 3-4"" wide and grew like medusas head of snakes around the base of the root. As beautiful as it is when it flowers, I would not plant this vine again. (It's actually a vine from china that's been ""trained"" to grow upright) I give it 2 stars because it can grow like weeds."

Gorgeous

Comments:
We haven't bought this tree but the price is reasonable. There are quite a few of these trees in our area - zone 8. We love to watch the one closest to our home bloom. What a knock out ! The long whispy branch look with these purple flowers are simply gorgeous. We took pictures of it this year. It must be an old specimen as the trunk is old, twisted and knarly looking. They do have it trimmed to keep it shaped like an umbrella like tree. It provides nice shade under it. Standing under it the scent is intoxicating and the tree buzzed with tons of bees. You might think the tree is alive, there was so much activity going on. The blooms don't last long enough on it, maybe about 6 weeks from March until now - late April?. One of the prettiest pictures we have is, the ground was littered with the flowers under it, our youngest daughter was collecting them and they weren't sticky.

Beautiful Tree

Comments:
This tree is beautiful. We bought one from our local wal-mart several years ago not knowing much about it. Turns out it was one of the best purchases we ever made. Ours turned out to be as wide as it was tall and full of long fragrant flowers. I really hated leaving it when we moved and wanted to get another for our new home, but couldn't find one anywhere. I was thrilled when I found one in the gurneys catalogue. I now have 3 wisterias and plan to buy another. They are not as big as the one at our old home, but I am willing to wait for such a beautiful tree.

Wisteria WOW

I received the dwarf wisteria tree from my now deceased mother. It was 1995 & I lived in Seattle where that tree is planted. It flourished & when I moved 12 years later, it was the biggest regret I had, leaving that tree. It was always short, never over 4' but it formed a huge umbrella (6'to 10') that flowered prolifically in spring & then always had some blooms up to fall when the leaves turned beautiful colors. EVERYONE asked about it. Now I've moved, I'm getting another!!! Gurney's is the only place I've found this gem.
