We live in OK and our front yard has been a brown dust bowl for years and I planted this grass after much research and we so pleased to have green grass! We are able to friends over without being embarrassed by our yard!

Buffalo Grass
Posted By: Donald Hammers
Location: Augusta, Georgia United States
Comments:
The soil in my part of Augusta is sandy and poor. Our Summer sun temperatures are in the low 100s; winters get down to 10 degrees. I planted Buffalo Grass as a last resort for weed control between two driveways. It appears to be invasive, but in this application, Buffalo Grass has done the job. Weeds are scarce where Buffalo Grass is planted.

Great for midwest yards

Comments:
This is incredibly wonderful grass. It's a pretty blue-green color that last from mid spring all the way into fall without watering. It's soft under your feet and doesn't need to be mowed at all. It also forms a thick sod that keeps the weeds out after the first year. The only problem people might have is that it doesn't turn green as early in spring as other grasses, but I think its good qualities more than make up for it.
