bought 2 plants them 3 years ago. the place i had room to put them was in a low clay heavy field next to a stream fed by a slow year round under ground water source. i used semi composted alpaca manure and created a half foot high mound that was 3ft wide and 15ft long(after turning over the base ground a few times of course) spaced the 2 bare root candies evenly from both sides of my mound and each other 5ft-plant-5ft-plant-5ft. picked flowers on the first year as they established and saw no new cane growth. Next year it all took off, by the end of June there was literally no room left in my pre-made patch (talking 40-50 canes) it was almost a negative as i spent hours trying to decide which canes to keep and what should go, and we are talking big,thick,100%THORNLES, and tall(6-7feet,i cut them at about 6 as i have mini trellis) did i mention they are 100% thornles! have a few growing ware you don't want them just grab and pull :). and now to berry production and taste. they produce the biggest, firmest, and sweetest (even when still white) raspberries i have even had the pleasure of growing or tasting. one thing tho.. they do seem to be a bit prom to sun burn but that dosnt seem to mess with the taste. also they hold up well if not the best of any berry when frozen or kept cooled.

"this review is mostly for the quality of customer service. will update my review in a few years when this produces fruit. arrived looking a little sickly, i called gurneys & they sent a healthy looking replacement no questions asked! arrived a few weeks ago about 9"" tall with leaves, now it already has a couple of buds"

We bought 3 plants, and they grew to fill three plots within 6 months, we were enjoying fruit that very same year. It produced two crops- one in spring and fall. I never propped up the canes, they grew about 2-2 1/2 feet tall and stood well without support. Never had any disease. No thorns were wonderful with the little ones!

Love This!

Living in a cool climate, it can sometimes be a challenge to find a plant that will produce as same as the Canby has for us. Our berries are HUGE, have the absolute best flavor, are firm & hold their shape and are very prolific. All that and they're so fun to pick because they're THORNLESS!!
