We loved these tomatoes. Each plant produced lots of flavorful tomatoes and the plants were disease free. I'll be purchasing these plants again.

Still growing at Thanksgiving!

Planted 2nd week of April 2011. Got about 10 Tomatoes at 60 days before we hit 100+ degree weather. Kept them alive through the 110 F summer and began pruning/fertilizing again in September when temps dropped in to the 90s. Thanksgiving day we had about 40 growing. These are heavy producers, just need to get the timing right for my area.

2010 was a short and cool summer in the Northwest. When no one else's were producing, my Gurney Girls were going to town! I had 9 plants and gave away well over 200 lbs of fruit. Not including what I kept. My friends mom said they are the best she's had since the 1940's.

High Plains 'Maters

I've had great luck with this tomato. Tried oregon spring, cold set, early girl, and a lot of other varieties, but this puts out more fruit, better flavor and more vigor than any other I've tried.. I'm at 5000', with a 90 day growing season in alkaline sandy loam soil. I start my plants indoors, moving them out around June 1. The original seed keeps well for several seasons under co2 gas in a closed jar. Too bad Gurneys won't sell the seed in quantity anymore, but only in teensy packets.
