love them
Reviewed By: Jo Ann Carter (Converse, LA)
this bean was wonderful. Canned beautifully and I had extra so I pickled them, my grandchildren loved them pickled. This year I had trouble getting them to come up, but Gurney assured me they would replace the order. It just wouldn't be right not to have these beans in my garden this year.

Very Pleased

Love the flavor of this bean! It takes a long time to pick a row because each plant was averaging OVER 20 beans. Best part though is that Japanese Beetles left them alone!!

Long, thin, and tender!
Reviewed By: Shari Honeycutt (St. Paul, MN)
I planted these and another variety of beans next to each other this year. This variety stayed thin even when they got long. The other bean got "beany" with heat, this one didn't. I'll plant this again in following years.

Tasty Beans

Loved these beans because even if you can't pick when needed they stay slim and don't get big and wasted like most if you miss a picking. Will buy them again. Very Tasty!!

Best Green Beans
Reviewed By: Kristin (Carthage, IL)
These green beans are the best tasting, have the best texture, and are always tender. They grow long, not fat, which makes a great bean for sauteing and salads. We also froze several cups of them last year and they preserved wonderfully!

Best string bean I ever grew
Reviewed By: Donna S. Conner (Baskerville, Virginia)
I ordered Trofeo Beans two years ago because I wanted something different. We had always grown Contenders but these were the best tasting string bean I have ever eaten. I canned over a hundred quarts and had enough seed to plant last year at which time I canned another hundred quarts. I only have 38 quarts left. This is definately my familys bean of choice and they love them cooked with a little salt and conola oil.

Unbelievable Yield
Reviewed By: Vicki (Edinburg, VA)
I kept hoping something would kill these plants because they just didn't stop producing perfect long, thin, tasty pods. I only had about 75' of row and we ate and canned so many and I still had some left to give away. No diseases, even the bugs didn't bother them much. Awesome!

A Surprise - Twice!
Reviewed By: Pete (Boulder Junction, WI)
When I opened my Gurney's order, I had been shipped the wrong green bean variety. (Of course, the good folks at Gurney's made it right at once). I planted these anyway, and really enjoyed the slender, deep green, and tasty results. Trofeo was excellent steamed fresh, and stood up well to blanching and freezing. A pleasant surprise - twice!

Just didn't quit
Reviewed By: Sue (South Plainfield, New Jersey)
I planted 16 square feet of Trofeo, half in May and half in early June and nearby an equal amount of Jade at the same intervals. I pulled the Jade in July due to powdery mildew - and harvested my last Trofeo in time for Thanksgiving. This variety gave me over 3 quarts of beautiful, disease-free beans.

Planted a row of Trofeo and a row of Contender. The Contender put on twice the beans that Trofeo did. About a 70% germination vs. 95% with Contender. Pretty good flavor.
