New to Shallots
Reviewed By: Jim (Camarillo, CA)
The other comments regarding the counts for the shallot bulbs are correct. I ordered 3 and there were 77 total. However, a number were double bulbs and I separated these and planted. Right now, here in S. cal. I have a bit over 100 up. Germination looks to be about 99%. Am impatiently awaiting the taste test.

Nice size Shallots
Reviewed By: James (Camarillo, CA)
The Shallots arrived today 2-24-14 and they are very nice sized, about what you would get in the grocery store. The count for 3 pints was 77 plus 2 soft ones, you will get about 25 per pint. More would have been nice but this will give me a very nice crop. I gigged them one star for the count.

Good Quality Shallots
Reviewed By: David (Birmingham, AL)
I ordered a pint of the shallots based on a previous review that said there were 70 sets/pint. There is not. There is about 18 or so. Do not order these thinking you will receive 70. Beyond that, the sets are big and of good quality.

Great Yield
Reviewed By: L. Cashwell (Lucedale, MS)
I ordered 2 pints of these shallots for planting in early spring. Each pint contained 70 shallots. I planted them in black plastic mulch rows. Out of the 140 bulbs, only about 3 of them did not grow. The rest grew into large clusters with 3-6 shallots resulting from each bulb. These homegrown shallots were much prettier and larger than the ones that you find in the grocery stores. Will definitely buy again. Note: I have planted these last year in a raised bed without a black plastic mulch covering, and did not have any luck growing them. The mulch definitely makes a difference.

Picked some and tried them, first time I ever tried this type of onion. I will order twice as many next year.
