Growing just 3 1/2- to 4-ft. tall, its large, 9-in. upright flower panicles open white in early to midsummer before turning pale pink and maturing to deep rose. Its large, dark green leaves turn mahogany-red in fall. An introduction by the U.S. Arboretum. Plant in partial shade to full sun as an informal hedge or accent plant. Zones 5-8.
