Known for its hardiness. Plump, golden fruits are medium size with a red blush. Now considered primarily a canning variety. Newer varieties, such as Contender, equal it in hardiness and have much improved flavor. Freestone. Ripens mid to late July. Zones 4-8. Not available in CA, CO, ID, OR, WA.

Planting Tip: Plant semi-dwarf peach trees about 12-14 feet apart, standards 20 feet apart.
