The glossy red skin and white flesh with light red rings make this a very attractive onion too. Stores for 4-6 weeks. A short-day onion, it begins forming bulbs when daylight lasts 10-12 hours. Often, short-day onions are the best for eating raw and in salads or lightly cooked in salsas and stir-fries. They often do not store as well as long-day varieties.
