Out of Season Raisin Tree

Raisin Tree

Gorgeous Tree with Unique Fruits

Grow edible fruits that taste like raisins, but don't need to be dried! The raisin tree grows 20-30' tall with a rounded crown and 15-20' spread. Its deeply fissured bark, glossy, green foliage and spectacular, cream-colored, late spring blooms make it an attractive tree for the landscape, and truly impressive when planted in groups. The edible or "raisin" portions are the mature flower stalks which support the inedible seed pod and reach peak sugar levels late in the season. The mature flower stalk is a reddish-brown color and with a knobby shape. Bareroot. Zones 6-9.
  • Zone 6 - 9
  • Height 20 - 30 ft
  • Shade Required Full sun to partial shade, but full sun aids in flower production and ripening.
