A perennial ground cover, named for its purple fall foliage, Purple Wintercreeper is a vigorous plant with glossy green leaves that tolerates a range of soil and light conditions, from full sun to dense shade. This vining evergreen to semi-evergreen plant grows 4-6 in. tall and is lovely cascading over walls. It's also a good choice for planting on slopes for erosion control or as an edger along paths and sidewalks. In some parts of the country, it can be invasive. Zones 4-8.
