This easy-care ornamental bunch grass adds months of movement, texture and color to borders and naturalized areas. Growing 18-24 in. tall in dense clumps, Purple Love Grass starts out with light green foliage. Its foliage then turns bronze in the fall. In late summer, brilliantly colored, red-purple inflorescences open, giving the plant a glowing look at sunset. The inflorescence also are attractive in dried flower arrangements. A low-maintenance perennial, Purple Love Grass tolerates poor, dry soils and is drought tolerant, once established. Looks best when planted in groups. Grows best in full sun. Zones 5-9.
