Principe Borghese Tomato Product Details

Botanical Name: Lycoperiscon esculentum 'Principe Borghese'

Height: 4-6 ft. Semi-indeterminate vines

Spacing: 24-36 in. Plants can be closer together.

Depth: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before planting outdoors. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep. Transplant outdoors after any chance of frost is past (may use Kozy Koats #80842 to plant earlier). When transplanting, set the plant deep, up to the first true leaves, by

Sun/Shade: Full sun

Fruit: 2 inch long fruit, 1-2 oz plum shaped, red fruit

Days To Maturity: 75 days from transplant

Flower Form: small yellow flowers

Soil Requirements: Well drained, humus enriched soil

Seed Count: Approximately 30 seeds

Pruning: Prune by cutting out suckers (auxiliary shoots between the stems and the leaves) to produce larger fruit. Fruit also ripens earlier since the sun can reach it more easily.
