I've tried numerous times to start plants in small pots before and failed every time. Last spring I tried using these peat pellets lined up in plastic trays. I experimented with all kinds of seeds. It resulted in lots of plants including tomato plants that were easily transplanted to my garden or big pots. I am buying a larger quantity this year.

These pellets are great for starting plants, but they are not bioegradeable. I threw some in my compost three years ago And I am still picking them out of the composted dirt.

These little pellets are the best seed starting unit. When it comes to transplainting you vegetables or plants the soil stays together with out your roots breaking off, also has very little transplant shock.
