Swiss Giant Zermatt Leek Seed

Early, European Favorite

  • Sweeter and more delicate flavor than onions
  • Harvest at baby stage or full size
  • Excellent in creamy soups
A favorite in Europe, Swiss Giant Zermatt Leeks has a sweeter, more delicate flavor than onions—and are a favorite for using in creamy soups, stocks and more. This versatile and early variety can be used at the baby stage or full size. Because leeks have a longer growing season, most gardeners sow leek seeds indoors in late winter and transplant them to the garden in spring. Leeks are very hardy but they need well-drained soil and a consistent source of moisture. Leeks can be harvested when they reach the desirable stage, but must be harvested before freezing weather sets in. 75 DAYS.
