Tasty but frustrating pear
Reviewed By: Rick Zehr (Iowa City, IA)
I planted this tree more than 12 years ago, and have yet to harvest a reasonable crop. The problem is that the fruit will fall off with any significant wind starting about July. So this year us the first year that we have gotten to a point where if the wind comes, we will still be able to use the fruit. I have tasted a few (and they are very good) in the past, but this year it looks good for a much bigger harvest and wider uses.

great quality

Just recieved my honeysweet pear tree and it is by far the tallest healthiest plant I have every recieved from them. I guess ordering in late november ensured me a top of the line tree. It is two and a half times the size of fruit trees I have gotten in the past years. Gurneys you did good this year!

Honey sweet pear tree

When I received this tree in the mail, I was worried because it was a stick with bare roots! But in about 6 weeks time it is covered with healthy leaves and has doubled in size. Can't wait to see it bloom!
